Patchwork Ornaments for Scraps N Pieces - Video Tutorial

Hello everyone!

Wish you all a nice week!

Christmas is coming! Everything is almost ready for the Holly Days, and I hope you will all spend these days with your loved ones, with joy and happiness!!!

By now, we’ve done most of our preparations. Wrapped our gifts and wrote our cards. Made our ornaments, decorated the Christmas tree and… we are left with a bunch of scraps from our projects. Pieces of paper and embellishments that we’re going to hide away, in a bag or a box, until we completely forget about them.

Or maybe not! This year, let’s make it different!

Today, I'm on Scraps N Pieces-The Blog, with a video tutorial.
See how you can make Patchwork Ornaments, by using all your leftovers!

Mini Christmas Wreaths

Hello everyone!

Evening post, for the first time! But couldn’t resist!

My little daughter asked me to buy her some styrofoam wreath bases a few days ago. Today she wanted to put them on the Christmas Tree! LOL
I really had to do something with them!

I took a piece of fabric I had for ages, but really hated its grey color, so I had put it away… Cut about 2”wide stripes and wrapped them around the wreaths.

Then I took some hemp rope from Canvas Corp and wrapped it over the fabric.

Misted the fabric with water and then spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists “Black Jerry” and “Verdigris” and Matt Mist “Peoney”. Next, I applied some snow paste all around the wreaths.

Flower Basket Upcycling

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to share with you a Home Décor project, I created for SCRAPS N PIECES - The Blog.

On my birthday, a while ago, my loved ones brought me a basket full of flowers! It was so beautiful, but eventually the flowers withered…

The basket, had all the potential, but without the flowers it was a bit dull, with no character… So I gave it a  little boost!

Mixed Media Twin Tags

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I wish you have an even more beautiful and creative week!

Today I would like to share with you my Twin Tags, a pair of mixed media tags I created by using packaging cardboard. For the colors, I was inspired by the various shades of yellow, purple, blue, orange, pink, and brown, that predominate in nature during Autumn.

I call them twins, because I created them to complement one another.

Could be a mother urging her offspring to follow her dreams, or could be a woman reminiscing her childhood and reviewing her life so far…

For this project, you can find a step-by-step tutorial over at SCRAPS N PIECES – The Blog.

Here are some photos. I hope you like them!

Awareness - Mixed Media Layout

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to present you one more project with which I’m entering the Annual Prima DTCall.  #PrimaDTCall

This time I drew my inspiration from some very popular female portraits.

As you all know, they were created by the famous and very talented artist Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988). He found the face of operatic soprano Lina Cavalieri, in a 19th-century magazine, and created over 500 variations of her face!

By looking at them, I realized that combining some of the portraits together, one can create a whole story.

That is how I created this mixed media layout.

It measures 12” x 12” and I used a piece of design paper from my stash to make it.

Modern Deity

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to share with you a new project I created for my participation to Prima Design Team Call. #PrimaDTCall

As a Greek, I am always fascinated by my country’s ancient history and civilization and very often I draw my inspiration from myths about ancient gods and heroes.

I had this curvy glass bottle in my kitchen, for so long, that I couldn’t even remember where I had found it. Then, one day I realized that its shape reminded me of the Minoan snake goddess.

This magnificent figurine was found in the palace of Knossos by the British archaeologist Arthur Evans. It is being displayed at the Archeological Museum of Herakleion, Crete.

I started wondering how a contemporary goddess would look like, what she would symbolize, what kind of story she would tell to the future generations about our time.

This is how I imagined her to be and I really hope you like it!
