Today I would like
to share with you "POWER", an art journal spread I created for the Mixed Media & Art June Challenge.
It measures 19” x
12 1/2 “.
I loved the moodboard, so powerful and vibrant!
A classic fast
car, like Ferrari, immediately came to my mind. A symbol of all time character
and power!
I created an
abstract city-like background for my car, by using the Prima Marketing Wall
stencil and the Wood Texture #1 stencil.
I started by
rubbing my pages directly with Distress Oxide ink pads “Cracked Pistachio” and “Fossilized
Amber”. I put the wall stencil on my page, spritzed with some water and then
with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “Verdigris”.
I sprinkled some
Infusions Powder “Rusty Car” and sprayed with Decoart Media Shimmer Mister “Yellow”.
I used Media
Crackle Paste and Ranger Transparent Paste to create texture. I distressed with
Media Antiquing Cream “Carbon Black”.
I printed a black
& white photo of a retro Ferrari car, fussy cut it and glued it with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. Then painted it with Faber Castell Big Brush Markers and Media Tinting
Base “White”.
At the outer edge
of the right page, I glued pieces of a sticker from 7 Gypsies Achitexture
Collection “Warehouse”.
I wrote the
quote with a black alcohol marker.
