Welcome to Fall CCB Blog Hop

Hello my dear crafters and welcome back to my blog!

I’m so happy to be part of a great and very inspiring Blog Hop by Canvas Corp Brands.
Seventeen artists and CCB designers from all over the world are sharing gorgeous fall themed projects. Fantastic ideas to get inspired and create your own fall projects!

Some of the designers are also offering giveaways, so please hop on to all the blogs and get the chance to win some goodies. At the end of this post you will find the links to all the other blogs.

As for me, I’m excited to share with you an altered IKEA frame that I created by using 7Gypsies Architextures™ Salvage Art - Shelf and adding some details with 7Gypsies Architextures™ Parchment Rub-On - Build. As base pages and for some die-cut elements, I used papers from the 7gypsies Gypsy Paper Pack Collection - Ordre du Jour.

Hope you like it and get inspired!

Happy Fall to you all!

Be Reborn - Old Treasures YouTube Hop

Hello my dear friends and welcome to my blog!

I’m so happy to reveal today a very special project with which I participate in the most exciting mixed media event of this fall.

This time an international team of 15 mixed media artists got together to celebrate Autumn, the season when Nature discards anything old and prepares to be reborn.

Welcome to Old Treasures YouTube Hop!

You will find a full list of materials and links to all the other videos, in the end of this post.

The symbolisms of this season are very strong and inspiring. Autumn is about cooling down from the summer heat. Evaluating our life, discarding anything unnecessary and setting new goals, finding our inner balance, and showing appreciation to what we chose to keep in our lives.

This time we pay dribute to the old treasures, the ones that we don’t want to throw away…but we love to keep and cherish.

For this challenge I picked a couple of wooden fans that I had for ages hidden in a drawer. I had decluttered the particular drawer several times but always put back in those little fans. So now was the time to give a new life to them.  The idea of something dying in order to be reborn, reminded me the ancient Greek myth of the Phoenix, a bird that burns in its own flames and obtains new life by arising from its own ashes. As you can watch in the process video, I used the wooden fans as wings for my Phoenix.

With this project, I chose to show different ways of using stencils and also a variety of techniques that help create an interesting background. Lastly you can see how to combine different types of colors in order to give depth to your composition. I really hope you enjoy and get inspired.

In this event you will get the chance to win many wonderful gifts since our hop is sponsored by 22 well-known brands. So please read carefully the info in order to get an eligible entry.

Canvas Tote Dress for CCB Crew Summer Challenge

Hello my dear friends! Wish you all a happy Fall season.

I know I haven’t been posting any projects lately, the reason being that I was caught up with the home project which took me a couple of months to complete. Then, it was time for some family vacation hehe.

Well not exactly true, because I had prepared something for Canvas Corp Brands, but it was all hush hush till today.
Every now and then all CCB Crew Members are given a challenge and this time it was about using a piece of canvas that was sent to us in our DT packs.
Mine was a Canvas Wine Tote. It is a great item to make a gorgeous gift bag with …but I had other plans…
A while ago I had bought a wooden mannequin from IKEA and now it was the best opportunity to alter it.

As I look at my project I can clearly recognize that I was very much influenced by folk costumes of Latin America, on which the bright colors and the big hats are very distinct features. This didn’t happen intentionally, but I am very excited to discover how the different images that have been stored somewhere in my mind, at some point come forth subconsciously and influence my artwork.

So, here is my Canvas Tote Dress for CCB Summer Crew Challenge!
