Hello everyone!
I’m back with
another project for the Annual Prima Design Team Call. #PrimaDTCall
For this project I used the 12x12 Collection Kit-French Riviera by
Prima. Such a beautiful collection! I was so inspired by the designs and
colors.
The idea of
creating a vintage-style travel album immediately came to me.
A cute little
booklet with large and small pockets, journaling cards and space for photos, to
fill with memories from an exciting journey!
The cover measures
7” x 6” and the inserts measure 6.5” x 5.5”.
I decided to use a
piece of faux book binding leather to create the cover. I directly glued a
piece of paper from the collection, on the leather, because I wanted to have a
flexible cover.
To decorate the
cover, I used two pieces of polymer clay which I stamped with rubber stamps. I
glued them with Art Basics Heavy Body
Gel.
I used Prima
Cast Iron Vine stencil and Art
Basics Gold Crackle paste to create some texture on the spine.
I tinted the Gold Crackle paste with Red Iron Oxide
acrylic paint, to tone down the shine and give a more vintage look.
When the
paste was completely dry, I used a combination of Raw Umber and Paynes Grey
acrylic paints to distress the whole cover.
Inside, I created
a double pocket on the front side of the cover and an envelope on the back
side.
I created five
inserts with pockets and flaps, by using 220gsm cardstock in cream and brown
color. Then I decorated everything with papers and stickers from the French Riviera Collection. The designs
are so beautiful and coordinate perfectly!
I punched holes
which I reinforced with eyelets and used some black leather cord to bind the
pages and cover together.
It is a quick and
easy project to reproduce and can make a wonderful gift to a friend who might be
taking an adventurous journey!
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for visiting my blog!
Until next time
